Karla Homolka....
That name sends chills up the spine of the public. You know that feeling you get just before you vomit, the chills, cold sweats, that horrid and uncontrollable nausea.
Paul Bernardo is locked up. He isn't going anywhere. He has not received any form of punishment accordingly; he never will. Bernardo will continue to be housed courtesy of our tax dollars, three squares per day, in protective custody, until the day he drops dead.
Holmolka on the other hand, after committing despicable crimes against teenage girls, crimes that include rape and torture, has not only been housed, been a part of prison parties (daycare for inmates) and achieved a Psychology degree all courtesy of our tax dollars, she is being given her freedom. On July 5, 2005, she walks.
